Even with my personal medical history, I was nervous about what I could and couldn’t do, but each exercise can be modified or adapted to fit each persons individual needs. I’ve loved Treadfit Lemont so much that I’ve even convinced my mom to start coming too — and she’s a grandma of almost 10!”

“I’ll admit I was nervous walking into Treadfit for the first time, especially at 60 years old with a knee replacement.  Even though I’ve been to gyms before, trying somewhere new comes with a few nerves. Karli encouraged me to sign up for the 7 day free trial and I’m so glad she did.  The instructors welcomed me and made me feel comfortable. They take the time to offer modifications and check in, which gave me the confidence to move at my own pace without feeling pressured.

I was nervous about the pace of class or that I would feel old there 😅 But it’s been such an awesome experience. I’m accountable to myself to show up, and once I’m there, there is so much guidance and support from the instructors that you really can’t go wrong. There’s so much motivation and such a great sense of community that I was very quickly super comfortable. I love seeing the range of ages, builds and abilities there, all working so hard to stay active and get strong. I’m stronger now, at 41, than I have ever been thanks to these classes. It’s so important to me that I stay healthy and live long for my kids, and this routine is a huge part of that. I’m proud of myself for sticking with it for nearly 2 years, SO grateful to have Treadfit so close to home and truly love the awesome women who lead these classes!

I can confidently say it conditioned me to take on one of the most intense fitness challenges out there—Hyrox—without any formal race prep. For those unfamiliar, Hyrox is a global fitness competition that combines running with functional workouts like sled pushes, rowing, wall balls, and burpee broad jumps. It’s a true test of endurance, strength, and grit.

When a last-minute opportunity came up to compete in the Hyrox Doubles division with Stacey Koszut, I didn’t hesitate. Despite having done zero Hyrox-specific training, I knew my time at Treadfit had me ready. The format at Treadfit—alternating blocks of strength and running—mirrors the structure of a Hyrox race more than I realized. Because I consistently lifted heavy and pushed myself through those treadmill intervals, I was already primed for the challenge.

Treadfit didn’t just help me stay fit—it unknowingly prepared me for a race I had no intention of doing this race this year, let alone in 2 weeks. Jumping into Hyrox with no prep and still crushing it was proof that consistent, well-rounded training works. Huge thanks to the Treadfit community for building me into the kind of athlete who can say “yes” to a race like this on a whim—and finish strong (top third, baby!).

I have always worked out and have tried so many different things. Treadfit offers me a challenging class with the option to tailor it based on my needs for the day. Some days I am running  on the treadmill and some days my body says “we need to walk”. What I love is that I’m always moving. The weight training is incredible! I feel stronger and healthier than ever. The instructors are what make it! From their music selection, to exercise direction, it is always motivating to be in a class. You know it’s a good class when you don’t watch the clock! The variety keeps me coming back, classes are similar but just different enough to make you want to return. I love that every workout is different and that Treadfit provides a comfortable environment where people of all ages and fitness levels can work out together, accompanied by great music in a positive atmosphere. The monthly challenges have pushed me out of my comfort zone, offering extra motivation to attend classes more frequently and achieve my health goals.

Recently, I introduced my teenage daughter to TreadFit since she has expressed interest in trying it after observing my journey this past year. I’m thrilled that we’ve found an activity we enjoy doing together, which will also help her build strength and endurance for her athletics.
